Take A Chill Pill Norsk mester!

15 Sep 22: Take A Chill Pill, confidently ridden by Willa Synøve Schou, went straight to the lead and was in full control throughout in Norsk Mesterskap for 2-åringer, run over 1170 metres over a good turf course on this Thursday evening. The daughter of Evasive, bred by Inger Skrede and Knut O Arnesen, gave Väsby Häst AB yet another big race win as she cruised home 1 1/4 lengths in front of the race favourite Sid Game, who was 1 1/2 lengths in front of Flower Power. This was Take A Chill Pill's second start. She turned the tables on Sid Game, who was the winner when she finished sixth on her debut in July. She clearly has speed but let's not forget that this filly is out of Perfect Spy, a well bred daughter of top class middle distance performer Nathaniel. Her second dam, Heavenly Whisper (Halling), showed high class form over 8 and 10 furlongs in England and there must be a good chance that this NM-winner will stay further in due course. Her next start will probably be in the Black Moon Breeding Auksjonsløp over 1370 metres on October 2.  GS

Take A Chill Pill - a daughter of top stallion Evasive

An exciting young filly by Evasive out of Perfect Spy, who is by champion middle distance horse Nathaniel. Our new filly has been named Take A Chill Pill, and that may well be what her part owners will be advised to do as her racing career gets underway. She has such a fascinating pedigree, being a daughter of a Group One quality miler out of a mare by a top class 12-furlong performer. Her dam, the well bred but herself somewhat low key Perfect Spy, is a half-sister to River Tiber, a Danehill son who won at Gowran Park in Ireland as a 2yo and finished fourth in the Celebration Mile (G2) at Goodwood in England as a 3yo. A 580,000 guineas yearling, he was trained by Aidan O'Brien. Take A Chill Pill's second dam, Heavenly Whisper (Halling), won the Masaka Stakes (LR) at Kempton Park as 3yo, when she was also runner-up to Proudwings in the Falmouth Stakes (G2) at Newmarket (now a G1) and third to G1 performer Time Away in the Musidora Stakes (G2) at York. Heavenly Whisper has also produced Buckland Beau (5 wins), Twilight Star (3 wins), Premier Banker (2 wins) and Sweet Clementine (2 wins). Further down in this family we find the smart stayer Illustrious Blue, who won 10 races, including the Goodwood Cup, G2.

Evasive was one of the best milers in England at three, after having won the Horris Hill Stakes (G2) at two, while Nathaniel - who had much more stamina - won the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) over 1 1/2 miles at Ascot. He was in the same crop as the incredible Frankel, and actually ran second to that superstar on his racecourse debut. After that, they  went their separate ways, as Nathaniel stepped successfully up in distance and Frankel stuck to the mile division, and proved unbeatable. What Evasive and Nathaniel have in common is that they are both superbly bred. Evasive (Elusive Quality) is from the same family as champions like Miesque, Kingmambo and East Of The Moon, while Nathaniel (Galilelo) is a son of Magnificent Style, who is also the dam of high class runners Great Heavens, Percussionist and Playful Act
